WHOLE WHEAT BISCUIT WITH COCONUT SUGAR (unrefined)

Instead of giving kids store bought biscuits, its better to make biscuits in home 

with healthy ingredients without preservatives. Kids too enjoy making biscuits. 

        Coconut palm sugar is rich in minerals , antioxidants, vitamin C, less sucrose

It has healthy fats and lesser Glycemic Index of  35, whereas regular white sugar 

has  GI - 65.  Lets make biscuits 






INGREDIENTS


Wheat flour                             - 1 Cup

Coconut unrefined sugar      - 1/3 Cup

Unsalted butter                        - 1/2 Cup

Baking Powder                         - 1 Tsp

Salt                                             - a pinch

Milk                                            - as required (cold)

PROCEDURE

1. Preheat oven 320 degree F.

2. Take butter (room temperature) and mix well with coconut sugar in a mixing bowl.




3. Sieve wheat flour, baking powder and salt in the bowl.

                           

           
4. Then crumble well with hand.


5.  Add milk little by little to form a dough.

                     

6. Do not kneed the dough, roll the dough slightly thick.

7. Then using your desire cookie cutter, cut out the biscuits. Take out the remaining parts of the dough leaving the cut biscuits in it's place without disturbing it's shape.




8. Re- roll the dough again and cut out biscuits.

9. Then carefully arrange the biscuits in a baking tray lined with baking sheet and prick tiny holes to prevent puffing.





10.Bake the biscuits in the oven for 12 to 15 min or until it turns slightly brown from edges.

11. Then allow the biscuits to cool down in the wire rack.

12. Now healthy homemade biscuits are ready to taste.


13 . Store it in a airtight container.
