are cake batter, oven safe dome shaped bowl and a doll (half of the bowl height). Lets go to the recipe.
INGREDIENTS
Whole wheat flour - 1 1/3 Cup
Jaggery powder - 3/4 - 1 Cup
Baking soda - 1/2 Tsp
Baking powder - 1 Tsp
Milk Powder - 1 Tbsp
Melted Butter - 1/4 Cup
Salt - a pinch
Vinegar - 1 Tsp
Milk - 1 Cup
Vanilla extract - 1 Tsp
Egg - 2 Nos
FROSTING
Whipped Cream - 1 Cup
Icing Sugar - 1/4 Cup
Beetroot juice - 1 Tsp
PROCEDURE
1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
2. Grease dome shaped oven safe bowl with butter and dust with little flour and keep aside.
3. In a bowl , whisk 2 egg whites with hand mixer or electric beater to form peak consistency.
4. Then goes the jaggery powder and yellow yolk of egg , whisk until jaggery dissolve well.
5. Add milk , melted butter and mix well.
6. Seive dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, baking powder , salt) twice in a bowl.
7. Then add the dry ingredients, milk powder and vanilla extract.
8. Now mix the batter by cut fold method, don't over mix in this stage.
9. Finally add vinegar and mix with the batter.
10. Pour the batter about 3/4 th of greased bowl.
11. I had little extra batter, so I poured it into the cup cake moulds. ( It takes around 10 minutes to bake, so keep eye on it).
12. Bake it for 20 - 30 min or until the tooth pick came out clear.
13. Allow to cool and remove the cake carefully from the bowl.
14. Yummy soft dome shaped cake is ready.
15. Allow the cake to cool completely.
Frosting
1. Place frosting making bowl and whisk in refrigerator for 10- 15 minutes.
2. Then add the cold whipping cream and whisk with electric beater in high speed.
3. When the cream become soft add in the icing sugar and whisk until it forms peak consistency Don't whisk for long time ,it will start churning).
4. Divide the whipped cream into 2 , add beetroot juice in one batch for color and whisk to mix evenly and leave the other as such.
5. Before applying frosting. brush little water all over the completely cold cake to maintain the moisture.
6. Apply the white cream all over the cake evenly.
Fixing Doll
1. Form little hole on the centre of the inverted dome cake depend on the size of the doll. ( I recommended to add whipped cream frosting only 2- 3 hrs before cake cutting otherwise it will loose the consistency.
2. Wrap the bottom of doll with clean cling wrap.
3. Insert the doll in the cake till the waist part.
4. Then pipe the colored whipped cream (made from beetroot) as per our wish to design the skirt of the doll.
5. Add pomegranate seeds to decorate the cake.
6. Now simple and yummy Doll cake is ready.
