INGREDIENTS
Shallots - 10 Nos
Garlic - 1
Tomato - 1
Turmeric - 1/4 Tsp
Tamarind - gooseberry size
Jaggery - 1 Tsp
To Temper
Sesame oil - 3 Tbsp
Mustard - 1/2 Tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 Tsp
Cumin seed - 1/2 Tsp
Fenugreek seed - 1/4 tsp
Asafoetida - 1/8 tsp
Curry leaf - 2 String
To Roast & Grind
1. Pepper - 1 & 1/2 Tsp
2. Red Chilli. - 4 Nos
3. Coriander Seed - 1 & 1/2 Tsp
4. Channa dal - 1 Tbsp
5. Urad dal - 1 Tsp
PROCEDURE
1. Roast and grind the ingredients under 'to roast and grind' and keep the powder aside.
2. Heat a pan ( prefer clay pan) ,add oil and the items to temper.
3. Then add onion, garlic and saute till it becomes transplant.
4. Add turmeric and salt, then add tomato and let it cool covered till it become mussy.
5. Add tamarind extract and allow to boil.
6. Add the roasted powder and mix well.
7. Allow to boil until it reaches desire consistency and oil floats on the top.
8. Finally add jaggery and simmer it for few minutes and switch off the flame.
9. Tasty milagu kulambu is ready to serve.
