KASHAYAM FOR COLD & COUGH



INGREDIENTS

Betel leaves       - 2 Nos
Pepper corn      - 1 Tsp
Long pepper     - 2 Nos
Cumin                - 1 Tsp
Dry ginger
      Powder        - 1 Tsp
Fresh turmeric - 1 Inch
Palm candy       - 1 Tbsp
Water                 - 2 Cup


PROCEDURE

1. Crush pepper, long pepper, fresh turmeric in a motor and pistol.
2. Remove betel leaves stem and chop into rough pieces.
3. Boil water in a pan and add the above crushed powder, cumin, betel leaves, dry ginger powder and Palm candy or Palm sugar.
4. Simmer in medium low flame until it reduces to 1 Cup.
5. Switch off the flame and allow it to sit for few minutes to reach warm .
6. Then strain the above mixture.
7. Now the kashayam is ready to serve.
8. It is good to take this kashayam in empty stomach in the early morning or atleast 2 hrs after meal.

NOTE

1. Use 1/4 tsp turmeric powder instead of fresh one.
2. Replace dry ginger powder with 1 Inch of crushed dry ginger.
