- Coaster - (Worked in rounds without turning) With 4.50mm hook and contrast color yarn ch6, sl st to first ch to form a ring, ch1, work 12sc in ring, sl st to first sc on beginning of round.
- 2nd Round - ch4, * (1dc, ch1) in next dc, * rpt from * to * 10 more times, sl st to 3rd of ch4 on beginning of round. Fasten off. (12, ch1 spaces)
- 3rd Round - Join in main color yarn, ch3, * 2dc in next ch1 space, 1dc in dc, * rpt from * to * to last ch1 space, 2dc in last ch1 space, sl st to top of ch3 on beginning of round. (35dc + ch3)
- 4th Round - ch3, 1dc in base of ch3, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * 2dc in next dc, 1dc in each of next 2dc, * rpt from * to * to end, sl st to top of ch3. Fasten off. (47dc + ch3)
- 5th Round - Join in contrast color yarn, ch3, 2dc in base of ch3,* skip 1dc, 1sc in next dc, skip 1dc, 5dc in next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 3dc, skip 1dc, 1sc in next dc, skip 1dc, 2dc in base of ch3, sl st to top of ch3. Fasten off. (12, 5dc groups)
- Make 2 more coasters same as just made, make 3 more coasters reversing the colors, i.e. start with main yarn not contrast.
