PATTERN OF CROCHET PUFF SHOE
Baby Shoe Measurements
8cm sole (newborn to 3 month old) - use 3.0mm crochet hook
9cm sole (3 month to 6 month old) - use 4.0mm crochet hook
10cm sole (6 month to 9 month old) - use 5.0mm crochet hook
11cm sole (9 month to 12 month old) - use 5.5mm crochet hook
Sole
ch 10.
Rnd 1: 1 sc into 2nd ch from hk and into each of the next 7 sts, 5 sc into the last ch st, (next work into the unused or free loops and over the yarn tail) 1 sc into each of the next 7 unused loops, 2 sc into last unused loop, join with a sl st in 1st sc. (22 sts)
Rnd 2: ch 2 and Place Marker in 2nd ch st, 1 hdc in same sp as ch-2, 1 hdc into each of next 7 sts, 2 hdc in each of next 5 sts, 1 hdc into each of next 7 sts, 2 hdc in each of last 2 sts, join with a sl st into top of ch-2. (30 sts)
Rnd 3: ch 2 and Place Marker in 2nd ch st, 1 hdc in same sp as ch-2, 1 hdc into each of next 12 sts, 2 hdc in each of next 3 sts, 1 hdc into each of next 12 sts, 2 hdc in each of last 2 hdc, join with a sl st into top of ch-2. (36 sts)
Sides
Rnd 4: (working in Back Lips for this entire round) ch 3, *Puff Stitch in next hdc st, ch 1, sk 1 st, rep from * around, after making last Puff Stitch, don't make a ch 1 and join into top of ch-3 with a sl st.
Rnd 5: ch 3, *Puff Stitch into ch-1 sp, ch 1, rep from * around, after making last Puff Stitch don't make a ch 1 and join into top of ch-3 with a sl st.
Toe & Ankle
Rnd 6: ch 1, sc into same sp as ch-1 and Place Maker in sc just made, 1 sc into each of next 11 sts, dc2tog (6 times), 1 sc into each of next 12 sts, join with a sl st into 1st sc. (30 sts)
Rnd 7: ch 1, 1 sc into same sp as ch-1 and Place Marker in sc just made, 1 sc into each of next 12 sts, dc2tog (twice), 1 sc into each of next 13 sts, join with a sl st into 1st sc. (28 sts)
Rnd 8: ch 1, 1 sc into same sp as ch-1 and Place Marker in sc just made, 1 sc into each of next 11 sts, dc2tog (twice), 1 sc into each of next 12 sts, join with a sl st into 1st sc. (26 sts)
Rnd 9: ch 4, sk sp where ch is in and sk next st also, *1 dc in next st, ch 1, sk 1 st, rep from * around, join with a sl st into 3rd ch st of the ch-4.
Rnd 10: ch 3, *Puff Stitch into ch-1 sp, ch 1, rep from * around, after making last Puff Stitch don't make a ch 1 and join into top of ch-3 with a sl st.
Rnd 11: ch 1, 1 sc into same sp as ch-1, 1 sc into each st around, join with a sl st into 1st sc.
Finish off.
Thread yarn tail through a yarn needle and weave yarn tail down through the middle of the 1st st and in along the inside of the shoe through the last row of stitches. Trim yarn tail. Weave ribbon into ch-1 spaces starting from one of the sides of the seam at the back of the shoe. Both ribbon ends should come out of the same space at the front center of the shoe.
